Motorsport: Focus Cup 2020 – Part 2
It was a Brands Hatch double header for round 3 & 4. Could Andrew Godfrey continue his remarkable start to the season?
Round 3

Race 1
If Andrew was feeling the pressure you wouldn’t have known, as he stuck it on pole for the 3rd time this season. Undoubtedly proving himself as one of the fastest drivers in the 20 strong field.
Unfortunately the race didn’t go as planned after contact exiting druids ended Andrews race early.

Race 2
Andrew made amends in race 2 as he battled his way through the pack to finish 4th. Picking up 21 points and a fastest lap in the process.

Round 4
With this weekend being a championship double header, we didn’t have to wait long for the next opportunity to pick up some points. Just like the day before Andrew qualified strong and would start 2nd for race 1.
Race 1
A very strong race from Andrew saw him record his 4th win of the season. A great way to bounce back after the difficulties the day before. Along with 30 points for the race win, Andrew also earned the valuable extra 5 points for fastest lap.

Race 2
It was clear the field was much closer at this short, fast track than at any of the previous rounds this season. As a result, it would be much more difficult for Andrew to make forward progress starting from 6th, for race 2’s reverse grid. Despite the handicap, he managed to claim the last step of the podium and earned another fastest lap. Andrew’s 6th of the season!

Andrew left Silverstone with a healthy 66 point lead and despite not having it all his own way this weekend at Brands Hatch, has increased that advantage to 69. You can never take things for granted in Motorsport but things are looking good heading into the final round at Donington in November.
